Free Einbürgerungstest practice — all 16 states, all official questions.
The Einbürgerungstest (German citizenship test) is an official examination required for naturalisation in Germany. It is administered by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) and consists of 33 questions drawn from a published catalogue of 300 general questions plus 10 state-specific questions for your Bundesland.
To pass, you need to answer at least 17 out of 33 questions correctly (roughly 52%). The test is available in German only.
This tool was built by someone who went through the German naturalisation process and found existing practice resources lacking — either paywalled, poorly designed, or missing state-specific questions. The goal is simple: give everyone free, high-quality access to the complete official question set.
Found an error in a question or answer? Have a suggestion? We'd love to hear from you.
